Hi everyone, I am the successful/lucky/fortunate/? winner of Adams' 328. Took delivery today from Intercity. They just happened to have a truck passing thru and were able to pick it up on Monday. I would have never thought I would go from having the winning bid last Wednesday night to delivery today.

Big thanks to Adams for working with me to turn this transaction around so quick. He was great to work with and helped however possible. Car is just as described. The paint maybe better. I can't recall the last time I saw black as polished, swirl free as this. My hats off to Brian Barnsworth.

Car ran beautifully on my way home. Intercity had to drop the car off a few miles from my house due to narrow streets and low hanging branches in my neighborhood. The only negative being I sort of had to sit leaning back since a seat bolt broke when the truck driver was up on the ramp driving it in. The bolt holds the back to the bottom. Thus off to do my first repair...

I appreciate all the insight I've gained from Fchat over the last several months. I look forward to participating more in the future.

Here are some pictures. Thanks! David

Congratulations you got a great car.

If Adams mechanic worked a bit faster that would have been me driving it home a few months ago. ;)

She is a beauty! I was bidding on that one too, but missed the deadline due to another committment.

What could be better than one 328? ......... Two 328s! ;)

I can't believe you bought that pig. At least I filled the crankcase with RESTORE before it left. They say that stuff really works! (Or was it the gearbox? Can't ever keep those straight.) :)

Anyway, thanks for 'taking action'. I'm still half peeved at the numbers of time-wasting 'pretender bidder' wannabes who sit and ponder for eons, mostly so they can impress their impressionable pals by saying they're 'shopping' for a Ferrari. Congratulations on pursuing and snagging your dream!

David, you got a very good car, well cared for in its tenure here and before. I suspect its about to enter another phase of great enthusiastic care. Your books and records should be in your hands via UPS today. Enjoy! Welcome to Fcar ownership.

    Only the red ones leak.

    Congrats!

I'm biased, but a black/concave-wheel 328 GTS is the best looking post-1970 sports car, and should be a reliable ride for you as well.

    Looks beautiful, David. Congratulations!

And, it's great to have another 328 in the neighborhood. Even if it is a black one.

I can speak from complete experience being a previous owner of your car...I miss her. Enjoy, you have purchased a fine example. Adams took great care of it during his ownership and I can promise you I did the same.

Another sweet little tidbit of information is the guy that did the last major here in Houston is also the guy that did the original delivery in 1987 right here at Ferrari of Houston.

ah so the real reason for the sale comes out: dumped just prior to the dreaded 50k seat-bolt service ;)

car looks great - congrats and best of luck!

Congratulations .. with the horror stories occasionally showing up on these pages, it's great to hear of a success. BTW, I had to replace that seat bolt .. it shears off in the seat but is not difficult to get out and replace. If that is all you have to do before enjoying it then you are a fortunate guy.

THE AWFUL TRUTH COMES OUT! I am SO embarrassed. Guess the jig is up!

    Good one.

I agree. There is a lot of "this dealer rammed a hot welding rod up my, um, 'exhaust' by not telling me of the following 32 things..." or over-scrutinizing to the point of deducting dollars for every bent page in the owner's manual. Then there's the ever present ebay misery and woe, which CAN BE dangerous grounds for the unprepared.

Then there are transactions between car guys/gals who instead of a 'car deal' have a transfer of enthusiasm. Such is, I believe the case here.

For all the 'good' deals that go down, there is a FRACTION of rough ones where by golly SOMEBODY'S at fault! And those are the ones we hear about, skewing the average toward paranoia.

Thanks to David for posting a positive experience. And it would've been even better if his check had cleared. ;) Hardy har. Better than a car deal is when you gain a friend.

Nero328 (Michael) was a great owner of that car too, and I consider him a friend as well. Hey, we're just 'renting' the stuff we own anyway, regardless of what it says on the title.

    Enjoy that car!
