I looked everywhere on the site but I do not see anything on adding my own aftermarket sub to the Becker radio. Has anyone out there done it and can you offer advice please. I see that the radio has a pre out for a sub (but only by adding a tiny pin to the plug and where would the ground go?)
Is it just best to go hi level from the rear speaker output of the radio? There is nothing hooked up to there now but at least there is wires hooked up to the plug. The advantage to using the pre out is that I assume that I could then control the sub ammount by virtue of the radios sub out feature.
I happen to have a new Clarion sub box amp thing that is very compact and I could put it where the factory unit goes and maybe just cover it up with some leather to give it the origional look.

You could try the high level output as a test - I wouldn't get my hopes up though. It just depends on what kind of sound you're looking for. I have listened to a later model 360 stock system (with the factory subwoofer) and it sounded light years better than the older system without the sub.

Personally, if I couldn't get at least 135dB out of a system, I wouldn't make the effort. I actually worked for ZAPCO in a previous life (building amplifiers).
Here is a 3000 watt system I put together from scratch for my NSX:

PM k-diddy, he's the most amazing installer in L.A. Celebs fly him around the country to do their installs. He did my radar and does amazing work. I know he's put many subs in 360/430 spiders.
