Ok guys so I'm just looking for a little help please if you can. I own an audio shop in central VA and we just finished up a big install for a customer with a 2004 360. Anyway he has also gotten some 3 piece MHT staggered wheels that he wants to put on. When taking off the front wheels I noticed that there is a bolt holding the rotor firmly that prohibits the aftermarket wheel from sitting flush. The rear had the same bolt but by adding the spacer he provided for the rears it didnt interfere with the flushness. However without placing a spacer on the front u would have to remove the bolt to get the rim to set flush and I'm assuming that bolt is there for a reason. Has anyone on here ran into this problem before?? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm pretty sure that the screw/bolt you're referring to is simply a locating screw and that it can safely be removed and once the wheel is on with all five lugs secured the disc is absolutely sandwiched between the wheel and the hub. It's really there just to keep the holes in the the disc correctly aligned with the holes in the hub so as to allow the wheel lugs to be threaded up with minimum of fuss.

I was thinking that also as there was a spot for 2 of them per wheel and there was only one of them threaded. However I really wanted to check before I let the customer take the car around town. I removed the bolts and torqued the rims down and everything appeared nice and tight. Thank you very much for your response!

    No bother, happy to help.

Probably no harm to note on your invoice / receipt what you've done?

He was actually just in here checking out the work and I told him exactly what we did. He seemed fine with it. Thanks again!
