I recently purchased a 2000 Rosso Corsa on Beige gated 360 Modena off BAT with ~20k miles. My car didn't come with the rear Challenge style grill. The car will be located in Texas, so I am looking at adding the rear Challenge grill to make sure things stay cool in the engine bay.

Is there any issue putting a true Challenge Stradale rear grill if I can find one (p/n 67408000, I understand its lighter / has larger vents)? If better to get the regular "challenge style" grill as were equipped on some 360s stock, do you think its better to pay for OEM vs. a replica (p/n 65919700, price isn't too different at $2,400 for OEM fs. $1,400 for replica)? I plan on adding a new Cavallino and keeping the original Rosso Corsa rear grill in storage. Would any of these hurt the value of the car since they are not on the factory build sheet?

Thank you for your opinions / views.

If your only worried about the build sheet then don't change. If then you must buy get oem. 99% of people don't know that the real cs grill is aluminum and the repop that most have are steel.

Thank you clean512. Makes sense. Not too worried about build sheet as my car is too high mileage to be a true collectors car (especially after I add another ~5k miles).

I'm pretty sure the CS grille has extra holes for the "Challenge Stradale" emblem that you may want to account for.

Thank you anotherred360. I was hoping the Challange Stradale logo that would normally go there (wouldn't put that on my car) would just use the normal vent holes, but that would make sense that there are special holes for it. The screw size didn't seem too big relative to the size of the vent holes (see images below), but its probably not worth risking having "extra" unused holes.

You are correct on there being extra holes for the Challenge Stradale writing as well. I found an image which looks like it has larger holes for the writing's attachment (see holes circled in red).

I love Challenge Grills, had one on my Yellow F355 and on my Black Challenge Stradale (I know that one would have been obvious LOL).

Where are you able to source the Grills?

If you are keeping the old oem panel, I would get an aftermarket one that looks good. I don't stick to oem parts if it's something reversible and cosmetic. Juice doesn't seem worth the squeeze to me but ymmv

As well as being lighter a genuine CS grille has the added advantage of not rusting out like the standard steel grids can.

I would suggest going for the OEM part where possible. Replica grilles are not always built to the same tolerances and will save you time adjusting and aligning such an unwieldy part. I recall there was a thread on here where an owner fitted an aftermarket grille to their 360 and needed to wallow out some mounts to get it to fit.

I bought an aftermarket grill. It fit just fine and at the time I spent about $900 delivered. It's steel of course and after 6 years no signs of rust anywhere.
I didn't have to wallow out any of the mounting holes. Maybe I just got lucky. But saving around $1500 was a nice benefit. And as I always do with parts I replace, I put my OEM (solid) painted panel in the loft.

I purchased my OEM from Ricambi, installed in about 3 hours. I had one small hiccup with the hood latch mechanism, but got that resolved with the mechanic quickly.

    I would get OEM.

Where did you get the aftermarket grill from? I've been looking around myself.

OEM is only $1k more ? That makes it a no brainer to stick with OEM. You'd lose way more than that on resale with a replica grille.

    Prosport makes one.

I would have considered aftermarket if I could have seen one in person, but it's one of my favorite parts of the car so I didn't want to risk it.

I'll have to look at my folder of records. After 6 years I don't recall off the top of my head. I do know it was from UK. Shipping then was reasonable and it came to me undamaged and in a very short time considering. Positive experience. All good.

    I guess.I’ll call and see.
I’m looking for a 360 so if grills are still easy to get I’ll scratch it off the must-haves.

I just spoke with Daniel and you are correct. Even though "out of stock" on their website he can order one anytime!

    THANK YOU!
