Searching old threads the dealer will need to program the car to use the control, but I think all the other hardware is already in place.

I had it retrofitted in UK it is listed in the 458 post purchase upgrade brochure. A dealer needs to do it. It is easier on LHD cars due to the wring loom location. It is a couple of hours labor.

Had it added by my dealer on my RHD 2013 458 Spider last year in UK. They needed the car for 2 days. It was about £1500 I recall.

I was quoted 2 hours by my dealer, that was the time allocated in Ferrari workshop manual. Come the day it turned out to be a massively bigger job, the binnacle had to come off and much more re-wiring work. It turns out the manual referred to LHD retrofit, the documentation has now been corrected. Anyway, my dealer honored the original quote, I think they were chasing Ferrari UK for compensation.

Yes, 2 hours sounds like book time for a LHD car. I replaced the switch myself, and it was a fairly easy. or dare I say, fun job!
My car already had cruise control. So, I'm not sure if a car that didn't have it from the factory, would need the wiring altered or programming done. That's a question for the dealer.
