In an effort to add some of the options that didn’t come with original car, has anyone added spare tire kit after? Is it DIY?

The spare tire came with my car. I keep it on a shelf in the garage. I have no idea why the original owner ordered that option.

From what i understand if you fitted the slim spare you can get a front tyre on the passenger seat but not a rear. Not seen it tried
I believe it is not available to order these days

The listing states the brackets came off of a 355gt not 100% sure these will fit a F430??

If you road trip.. had a Tire blowout in a bad area, Ferraris can attract the wrong attention. After that I bought and fitted the spare when I would travel farther than near by my town. Took up space , but was a quick exit backup plan

    Yes it is
Need to buy the bottom and top brackets
They install into pre existing screw nuts that are behind the frunk carpets, you need to essentially screw through the carpet and into the nuts. Little hard to locate and align the nuts, otherwise is easy

I have AAA for all contingencies, I'd much rather be upright in a bad area than bent over with my back exposed while changing a tire. Besides, I don't routinely travel in "bad" areas. I can't think of an instance since 1987 that I've traveled in a bad area.

Same, I have AAA "plus" with additional mileage towing. I also have an inexpensive flat kit, that include plugs, sealant and electric air pump...it was recommend by consumer reports testing. There is no such thing as "good" or "bad" areas...criminals do not make such distinctions and will happily victimize you wherever they happen to be...Some areas may have better statistics on crime, but they are meaningless when you are the outlier and its happening to you, here and now.
