I used to have a 997 C2. The porsche was a lot sportier. Especially around the bends, the 997 would have considerably less roll, and it just felt more planted. I think a lot of that has to do with the weight of the car. And I also thing that the rear engine setup allowed for the engine to be heard more in general inside the car. Inside the GranSport you cannot hear the car as well, and that is reinforced when standing outside the car. The GranSport is just softer on the whole.

VEEEERY nice pics (love the flattering flags!). Yes, the 911 is much more developed and bullet-proof and more a racer but it lacks the drama every Italian car has! Enjoy the Maserati - its a great car!

    Ciao!

Put the car in sport mode then tell me the engine isn't loud enough. When you accelerate the exhaust sounds so much better (louder, deeper).

The car has only been in sport mode. Since the day I picked it up the only time sport was turned off was late at night so the neighbors don't complain. Despite that the in car sound even in sport mode is not as loud as the in car sound of the 997. This may be because the engine is closer, and there may be less material in between. I say this. but on the outside the GranSport sounds worlds ahead of the 997. Currently looking at a software update. Any suggestions? I have heard Formula Dynamics is good, but I have also heard that the facotry has an upgrade as well. Input would be welcomed. Took a trip down to St. Louis on Sunday, and saw the opportunity to snap a few pics.
