Hi, I realize this isn't an issue in the US, but over here in the UK when we drive in Europe we're supposed to change the aim of our headlights (because we drive on the left and in Europe you drive on the right). On BMW's I know this can be done by turning a dial on the rear of the headlight cluster but I've no idea how it can be done on the 612... Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Really? I thought headlights always shoot to the center of the car and the wheel on left or right wouldn't make a difference.
Take it to you local dealer and let them do it... But watch them so you know how to do in the future. Jim
Take it to my dealer whilst in the channel tunnel on the way to France? Not really an option.. If the dealer switches it now then I'm illegal in the UK.
Thats why I said you should take it to your dealer and have them SHOW you how to do it the proper way. So while you are in the middle of the channel tunnel, you can pull over pop your hood and take your headlights apart and reset them. Jim
Just for the sake of the archive, the headlights don't appear to need any adjustment as they produce a completely flat even (left to right) field anyway (tested in a dark car park against a wall). Any adjustment to height / focus can be made via a small square panel in the front wheel well which can be removed via two 8 mm bolts.
