My e-brake isn't grabbing as well as I would like it to and needs to be adjusted.

Is this something fairly easy to do? and will I need to drop any undercarriage panels to do so?

    Thanks!

Adjustment is made just forward of the rear wheel opposite the driver's position on a euro (RHD) car. It might just be on the opposite side of a LHD car but I don't think so. You can take up the slack there but don't expect a heck of a lot of performance gain.

Check e brake pads. May be in need of replacement.

As ferrridublin noted above, remove drivers rear wheel and you can adjust, also try on e brake handle. Otherwise check the brake pads..

The 360 E-brake is not very good to start with. I don't trust mine and always leave the car in first gear. My indie mechanic adjusted mine at the last annual.

that's exactly what I have been doing, but I figured my e-brake needed adjustment since it seems like it's fairly weak at keeping the car in place on slight inclines.

Adjusting the cable (near rear wheel) will mean that instead of pulling the handle up six inches (or 12 clicks) to get a certain amount of breaking force that you now only have to pull it up three inches (or six clicks) to get the same force of breaking. It might look better but it won't produce any extra grip unless you are presetly literally running out of travel on your brake handle.

If you find it ineffective and want to do something to improve it then you need to be looking at new cables, an overhaul of the e-brake calipers and potentially replacing the pads with new or improved. Then you'll have a system which will be as good as it was when it left the factory.

I bet it was pretty poor when it left the factory too though! :D
