I would appreciate some advice for finding a 599 similar to mine. I can find a red one like mine but has the Star wheels while I own a car with the Challenge Style wheels. I've thought about getting a GTO version and painting the roof but would still have the GTO wheels. They're similar, but not quite the same. Any ideas? I've even looked at changing the wheels by purchasing them separately but can't even find them. My 430 die cast model was a lot easier to find.

Not sure what scale you’re after, or your budget but in 1/43 scale there appear to be a number of 599 GTB available on ebay with Challenge wheels from the likes of BBR and Eidolon.

Was hoping for a 1/18 scale. Thanks and I'll go over there and take a peek

Great question as I have looked myself. Hope to find a nice 1/18th scale 599GTB model. Plenty of GTO versions it seems

Now that's what I'm talking about! I've found the Wiesman roadster but now can't find any of the plain and simple 599's ! I found 10 a few weeks ago. What a qwirky hobby. I'll go ahead and order the roadster and wait to find the "plain" 599 in Corsa Rossa somewhere.

Dang it. Now I can't even find the Weismann with those wheels. They all have the GTO type wheels. Every time I do a search, something different comes up.

I had the same problem with wheels when looking for a TDF 599 GTB like mine. I did find a TDF with tan model and I did buy some wheels extra that looked like HGTE wheels but could not make them fit.

I've found one but the red version is $250 plus buying the wheels requires the car along with it! I'm bidding on a silver one that's reasonable and I guess I'll have to do a "frame off" restoration!

I believe this silver version as the correct wheels but they would have to be painted..

I have another 599 GTB from Hotwheels 1/18 rosso corsa/tan in foundation with star spoke wheels.
If anyone needs this for their project, make a PM.
Also wiesmann can be found around here in the Netherlands...

After buying a silver one on Amazon for $60+ and the closest red one was above $250, I resigned myself to airbrush the red onto my silver model. I'm in DFW today and we went to a local hobby shop just to look around. We found a RED one for $49.99!! I am ecstatic that I'm not going to have to paint the beast. I've also won the eBay Weismann car (for wheels) which will be coming in next week. Just need to figure out how to transfer them over to my car without destroying anything...

The wheels from the Weismann model. Hated to gut the car but really wanted those wheels! I'll post better pics when I've got it finished.

    It's a Wiesmann, not a Weismann.

Wheels coming along. I painted them to look more stock. The chrome finish was just too muchand they're just a little bit too small diameter but will be acceptable. I was able to remove them from the Wiesmann easily. They just snapped off the hub assembly. Hope the Ferrari's are as easy.

It's essentially done. Need to figure out center caps that are yellow with black horse. We're talking 1/16" or less so it's going to be tough. Absolute nightmare to get the toe in and camber even close. Lots of grinding and finally used superglue and got it all together. Taking a break for now and it'll sit on my desk at home. Great project and appreciate the help, especially from Pkiewiet. Guess because the 599 is so rare makes it hard to find in 1/18 diecast.

I got the centre caps from the star-spoke wheels.
It isn't easy, but it is possible !!

    Good luck
