Ferrari Factory is in Maranello, I think Maserati is in Modena.. but I've only been to Ferrari.

If you want a tour, you need to arrange through your dealer. I highly recommend it.

Yes there is a museum there as well.

Yes, you can still do it. Do you have your service done at your local Ferrari dealer?

Factory tours are only allowed thru your dealer, or with personal contact with the factory.
General admission is not given inside to the factory.

You can visit the museum...(Galleria) eat at Montana's restaurant, and walk to Fiorano circuit all in a few hours time.

museum, cavalino, montana. if you cant get into the factory then these are the only other worthwhile things to see, unless you catch glimpses of test drivers

I just came back from there a couple of weeks ago.. drove big loop Rome-Maranello-Pisa-Rome.

I have a thread on it over at http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=306113

Towards end pics and contact details places to do, or not bother with much.

In short the +1 picks (for me) were:
    - Pagani Factory.. tiny but exquisite.. you'd NEVER get this close to such newly released cars as the Huayra at Ferrari!
    - Arrive and drive F cars galore.. several businesses all in one road drive so many models. Check out the websites listed and cars and options

Also good were Ferrari Galleria with collection and Ducati Museum at nearby Bologna.

btw: if you go to Bologna for some reason there is a stretch of highway with many prostitutes openly standing around broad daylight.. never saw anything like it in 1,500 km of driving in Rome and elsewhere!

oh and take the mountain road Pisa-Maranello via Abetone!

    Enjoy your trip!

dont sweat it, that seems to be his answer on anyone who asks a 'search' question, he helps then gives you a slap to the back of the head for asking.

Trip was great but only saw museum. Fun for couple hrs esp seein 512s race car. Should have reserved factory tour. Also could have rented a ferrari for 10 min, scud no less but didn't. Didn't trust navi to get to other factories. Maybe next time

Fiorano was cool because u can see entirs track from street. I thought it was top secret. Anyone can time their test drivers!!??

Will post pix when I get home. Now at nurburgring. Had phenomenal instructor who made it seem easier than Limerock! Tomorrow solo so different situation entirely. Might set all time slowest lap record

Late summer early 1990's my wife and I traveled from Zurich to Florence via Modena.
No tour date, no confirmation, only the will to see the factory on a wish and hope. Debarked the train at Modena and sought a bus route to the factory. First ticket window agent said
line "X", second window agent said line "Z". As we had a reserved seat to Florence and a
hotel reservation late that night, we decided not to get on a bus until we spoke English with someone (and we needed Lira for the weekend) so we walked about two blocks to find a bank. The absolutely lovely and kind young lady at the bank spoke English well, understood our needs and drove us to the bus terminal AND walked with us to the bus line to Maranello.
Then we found ourselves on a bus packed with young adult Italians, windows open with strong breezes and a loud clamour of Italian voices. Remember, no tour date, no confirmation. From the rear of the crowd we hear English spoken. As it turned out, the spoken voices were those of an L.A. couple with a planned tour. Also with them was a
charming young Japanese physicist who had recently delivered a scientific program to a group
of like minded people in Venice. His expertise was deep ocean wave physics. Presently, how fitting.
So.. We find ourselves at the gates, within the doors actually, and plead our cases with
a delightful young lady who informs us that without the necessary plans we are SOL.
However, since a tour had been planned for the L.A couple, she informed us we may join them with their consents. So it was. We enjoyed the tour. The physicist was thrilled.
We made the train to Florence with extra time.
And about Florence, who could stand before the great Botticelli creations in the Uffizi without awe?
