    Hi All,

Finally ready to pull the trigger on my first Ferrari after years of lurking & months of searching.

1996 355 GTS. 22K miles. Recent 30K service @ a cost of $9K+. Headers and cats changed. Current owner not sure what I meant about the valve issue when I asked about it. Not sure if the records are 100% complete but close. 4th owner. Tools, manual, books. Red/tan. Completely stock-no upgrades, no tubi, etc. Some dash shrinkage. Involved in minor front accident. Changed out front bumper, one fender, one complete headlight assembly and repaired hood. Owner claimed only bumper need to be replaced but decided to do the other parts also. Clean Carfax. asking $71K.

I'm going to take a look at the car this weekend. If the everything is complete and the damage done perfectly, do you think the price is fair. Is there an automatic deduction for accidents. I will have a complete PPI done, of course. Any other Pre-PPI advice is also appreciated. I rather have Titanium or Silver but Red will do. Especially if it's a GTS. Thanks

I would just point out an accident free car is worth more than one that has had body repair... if frame is straight and done cleanly not a real big issue. Most cars have the nose repainted anyway from rock chips.

I would be 100% sure to see those receipts for the 30K service. Headers and Cats are big ticket items and make sure the timing belts were changed. If done at dealer, you will have a 3-4 page invoice.

The real big ticket is the valve guides. A leak down test during PPI will let you know. Have the PPI done at the dealer and estimate repairs to make the car right.

Good luck. 355 is a fun car.

    i echo frank's sentiment.
imo, i think you find a better car for the same money....or do better on the price on the same car. good luck in your search.

If everything looks good, I'm going to offer somewhere in the 60s and go from there. The GTS are just hard to find at a reasonable price. Thanks for the input. Hopefully, I'll be posting some pics soon.
