The alarm warning light is staying on and when i try to activate the alarm I can hear the doors lock but there is no single beep. All the doors / bonnet / boot are closed fully. Any suggestions ?

The batteries in your siren box is dead...you should expect to start hearing three chirps ocassionally when you start your car. All symptoms of the same problem. Bad news is that you couldn't get replacement batteries (european odd size not available in the US) and the new siren box is $550.oo plus installation.

Good news is that Bruce W. (BWS550) a.k.a. the king of batteries located the replacement batteries after a very long search process. You can get instructions on how to remove the siren box and cut it open here....http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38676i

the mention of the 3 beeps confirms it as last week I heard 3 and wondered why... I am travelling in Europe with the car for the next 3 months - whats the consequences of not doing anything with it until I get back to the UK - anything serious ?
    Cheers

No consequences other than the annoying three beeps. Ignition kill still works without the siren box and door locks will engage with the remote. My batteries were out for about 6 months before the mystery was solved and replacements were located.

    Happy traveling!
