Ok the reason is, and this is no disrespect to anyone in here, until horse told me gizz bought one I had never heard of them or considered them, but everyone knows what an AMG Mercedes is. I just figured, apart from anything else, the Audi would therefore be much harder to sell and I doubt this will be a keeper.

Also every review I saw pronounced the a45s as better in pretty much every way, which you would expect since its a brand new car compared to the aging Audi. The new Audi, which is soon to be released, will be really something I imagine.....but they will still be relatively unknown to the masses, hence back to the resale issues.

Just my opinion, which is the only one that counts.

 

So do I...I drove one a few times as an alternative. But the a45s is better, as it should be for almost twice the price.

Different level of performance AND money.

 

A tuned Golf R certainly makes a very compelling value case. If you want a bit more performance, a brake and suspension upgrade will get you to a point where its more than sufficient on any measurable difference.

Of course if you want something more tech laden or has more "street cred", then feel free to pay another $50k for it, but at the end of the day it's still just a (very nice) hot hatch. $100k for a hatch, whilst a great car, just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

And neither does a $100k+ SUV....

I don't mind spending big coin on that crazy special weekend car, but for a daily? meh. They're nice, but they all get boring real quick so I just don't see the value in this super high priced hatches/SUV's.

But hey who am I to judge. I recently spent over $5k on a needle for my record player, so whatever floats ya boat.

I don't think you can just say a certain car isn't worth $50k more than another. If that were a real metric no one would buy a Ferrari etc. I know you meant TO YOU, but even you buy stuff that doesn't make any more sense than "you want it"
