Hi Guys Im stuck on an island off spain - Ibiza. I went to check the tyre pressure on my 550 and the tyre valve snaped right off - instant flat tyre. My problem is that there are no specialist tyre shops on the island. The valve looks differet to the norm - am I right or just being paranoid Is replacing it a job to be trusted to a local garage or should I have the car collected and trucked to barcelona at great cost !
Is this your only mode of transportation? You might be better off shipping the wheel over to a reputable shop. Even if a local can do it, chances are - they will scratch the rim itself. The tire just needs to be dismounted, a new valve put in and remounted. Simple process, but the quality of the machine and the installer will determine if you get a scratched wheel or a broken bead on the tire.
