    Hi Guys,

I need to replace one of the three vents that are situated on the top of the dashboard on a 328. One of the little directional flaps inside has broken and drops into the vent itself.

Has anyone done this before? Is it easy? Also when checking the parts catalogue, it's part number 6173880, the diagram only shows the outer ring of the vent not the flaps inside. Ironically it's just the flaps that I need to replace, can I just source these?

Finally.........Some little bugger has snapped the tail from the prancing horse on my front grill. This is easy to replace but I can't find the part number and cost for a replacment, any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,

    Philip

Horsy on the front grill should be #61739400 according to my parts book.
    Probably an expensive little b@stard.

No idea about availability, I would suggest to try FoUK?

The vent just pops out to remove it...I doubt you are going to find just the flaps for sale...you will need to check with used parts houses.

As far as the horsey...the original "flat" style horse is no longer available, anywhere. About all you can do is buy a reproduction, but as I recall it is a bit taller than the OEM one. I think the stock one is 4" and the repro is 4.5" tall. Otherwise, you can just go with a more dimensional looking one.

You can source the horse from many places...including our sponsors...

We have been trying to source a replacement Cavallino for the front grill for our 328 for about 6 months for exactly the same reason. A previous owner snapped the tail off one day while cleaning the car. They are about as rare as rocking horse poop as far as I can tell.

We ordered a replacement from Ferrari UK and they sent us the new part which replaces the obsolete part number but the emblem isn't flat and its smaller so you can see the mounting brackets on the grill. It looked really bad so we took it off again and put the original (without tail) back on. Since then we've been searching for a replacement without any success.

Sorry, can't help with the vent replacement question.
