Hey Guys I’m getting ready to pull a trigger on a 296 by next Friday. I’m not a track member but have taken 2 of my 3 Ferraris on tracks and enjoyed the experience. My typical usage is going on spirited drives and cars and coffee etc. these cars are NOT daily drivers and neither do I roll up to a restaurant in them. Is an AF completely out of the ball park for me ? I’ve driven a SF90 AF but not on the 296. The AF ones I’m getting seem better value and / or look sharper. I don’t need the lifters. thanks for your inputs , specially from owners that have driven the AF for some time and miles.
Yes, no difference in wet mode. I'd go AF. It's a sports car, it shouldn't be too smooth! My AF 296 is bumper than the SF90 Spider was, likely because of the shorter wheelbase and weight, but I wouldn't spec it any differently. Looks better, and the interior pieces are very cool.
Only test drove didn't own 2 x 296 GTS AF. They seemed sharper handling wise but had some residual up/down oscillation on undulating roads that I didn't like. My Ferrari rep said the owner who races noted the same thing and got non-AF on GTS. Didn't seem too harsh on rough roads though.
It’s never jarring. I’d say other cars in race mode without bumpy road mode on are more harsh, but maybe less bouncy. I do wish it had a bumpy road mode, then it would be perfect, but no regrets getting AF, even with terrible LA roads.
