At 557am the phone rings and it's the driver who is about 10 minutes from my house. The time didn't bother me but it was still completely dark outside and that is exactly what I wanted to avoid and I didn't want to wake up my 5yr old that early to see the show. I asked that he try to wait till about 7 and he said no problem. 648 and the truck shows up. Good thing I am in a new construction development because everyone is use to 7am start time on the houses. The truck is big, bigger than I expected and there it is right in front on my house, flashers on and engine running, etc. I am sure my neighbors love me! Actually, aside from a few crews going by no one noticed the truck and the noise which is a good thing.

They open the back of the trailer and it is awesome. Ferrari red is like no other and I have always said I would never get a red car unless it was a Ferrari. Seeing the car for the first time is pretty cool. I've only been on this journey for 6 weeks but it still seemed like forever getting the car. They take the wrap off, lower the lift, start it up and I am grinning from ear to ear. I actually have not spent a ton of time watching these cars drive by so I asked the driver to pull it into the driveway. I'm biased of course, but this 2000 looks every bit as good, if not better than 99% of the 2010 cars I see. The design is timeless and it screams speed. It really is a fantastic looking car, 10 years old or not it is beautiful.

Finally got in it and am surprised how functional it is. Certainly not the import variety with lights, switches, etc. So far I am thrilled with the condition. Weather looks good from Tuesday on so I will be out and about going.....anywhere.

Let me be the first to officially congratulate you- AWESOME!!!!!!! Great job buying the car- there is the same car and year as yours with similar mileage on ebay asking $100K- I knew the asking prices would be moving up in the spring, and for the 6-speeds too- you got a steal of a deal :)

The car and shields look great!!!!!!!!!! (but of course I'm biased as I have the same car ;) )

great story John! thank you for posting pictures. To be honest, delivery pics are some of my favorites. Since I'm single and have no immediate plans on getting married, these are like wedding pictures to me. :)

    Very nice Best to you.
That's an interesting carrier your baby came in on.
Lucky you are not up in my neck of the woods. It would have definitely ruined your delivery.

What a fun day so far. A few sticky parts in the interior (lock/unlock button on doors, button to open glovebox and the steering column) but nothing too bad. If there was a quick fix I would do it but I'm not interested in taking the car apart at this point. One very small dimple under the passenger side headlight and a very small area of curb rash on one rim. For 10 years old this car shows really well. A professional detail would have this car near flawless.

It's only in the garage so far due to weather but the stock exhaust is really tame and quiet. I don't want an F1 scream but something with more bite and growl would be welcome. I'm trying to be patient with the exhaust upgrade but it is something I want to do very soon. The Fabspeed offer is so tempting. They are offering a very fair price on the exhaust and install all while I wait. So far from the youtube clips, which aren't worth much, the Larini sounds the best to me.

Forecast is calling for the rain to stop around 4am so maybe by tomorrow afternoon I can get out and cruise around.
