Probably a stupid question but I can't imagine that Ferrari would run wiring like this: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My suspicion is that it is an aftermarket alarm system someone installed in my 1988 328 many years ago that needs to be removed. The idea of unprotected wiring under the drivers side carpet seems like asking for smoke to be let out of the car ;-). Thanks in advance for your thoughts/comments.
    Cheers,

That is certainly an interesting set up. I count around 16 wires there -- looks like 11 colored ones and 5 black (probably grounds.) Are those relays under the seat? Where else do the wires lead to? Sort of looks like a poorly put together EFI harness + relay board to me.

That looks like an aftermarket hot mess to me.

All of my front to rear wiring (that I have thus far seen) runs from the dash area rearward on top of the central chassis tube, under the center console, nice and tidy.

Thanks for your reply. Yes that is a set of relays under the seat. I am planning on replacing the carpet this fall (just ordered a set out of California) and will be better able to figure out what that mess is doing. The box at the from is held in place by zip ties so really doubt that it's original (I have a really hard time imagining the factory running wires across an area that would be 'walked' on).
I have 2 possible hints, one is a non-functional key fob for locking and unlocking the car-doesn't do anything, and one of the wires appears to be an antenna?
    Cheers,
    Lynn

I agree! looks to much like some of the aftermarket radio installations I've seen.
    Appreciate your reply.
