My 328 started like it had been running yesterday. Only prep work was some Stabil in the gas back in early Oct and the batt disconnected at the big red neg connector. No charging of any kind - I am very anti-unattended charging.

Even the air conditioning worked well!

Really love being together with my 328 again...sadly only for 2 months and then it's back in the dark for it until Sep. :(

    Good stuff :)

A few years ago mine sat for more than a year and a half without being run. No gas stabilzer etc. Simply bought a new el cheapo battery to replace the old el cheapo battery (never bothered trying to test/charge it). Started up after just a little cranking and ran fine.

That's a great car you have there, Mike996! I remember when you posted about taking it for a last spin before putting it away for the Winter. I don't know if I could go that long without seeing my F-car.

I let my 81 308 sit for a couple years without even starting it (females tend to cause priority shifts, never letting that happen again)... anyway... Put a new battery in and cranked her over...didn't start. It had been so long since I started it, I forgot I should be hearing the fuel pump (which I didn't now). The ethanol in the fuel I sispect, had siezed the pump.

So I drain the fuel (which smelled like varnish), put in a new fuel pump and accumulator, new fuel lines and brand new gas... fired right up! Now of course I have half the engine apart changing out the water pump and cam belts and tensioners.... etc... etc. :)
