I live in a 2 plate state, which means I need to display a front plate. Anyone have any ideas on an aftermarket solution or do most people just jerry-rig something up?

There is (or used to be) a version that screws into the tow-hook receptacle. Or you could do like my buddy did and fab your own up, welding it to a spare tow hook he bought at a junkyard. Good and redneck!! :)

Only downside I can think of is with this option is if you suffer a front impact the tow-hook is probably tied to the frame, so it might increase frame-bend more than just the front bumper alone crunching and evenly distributing the impact force. Hope this makes sense!

What I do in California is go without a plate, and if I get a ticket which has happened multiple times, zip-ties are my friend! Easy and quick, no drilling.

    This too:

Looking at the 348 front plate placement my car has 4 drilled holes in the front grill towards the passenger side. Not sure if this is factory or not. It would be easy to fabricate a simple bracket set to a standard metal plate holder kit using a few thin bolts/nuts to mount a front plate. In the pics it would cover the beloved chrome horsie. Who wants to do that? I would opt to mount it towards the passenger side instead with creating an additional drill hole if a necessity.

Fabspeed makes a nice one that consists of a bracket that bolts to the bottom of the bumper at the body underpanels (3 bolts) and extends up to just below the grill. It works well but I go without and take my chances. It just looks so much better without a front plate.

Exactly what I have and do. I have The Fabspeed holder and it's a good design but it still looks like crap.

Jerry rig for inspection then take it off and carry it in the car. If I get pulled over claim I have ordered the parts, it broke, etc. I have never been pulled over for it yet. No matter what you do or buy it will look absolutely terrible and ruin the front look of the car.

Best option I've seen. Those three bolts are there from the factory, so no permanent modifications.

The fabspeed holder is what I have, would not use a different one. Puts the plate in exactly the right place just like the factory mount but costs around 1/10 what the factory holder does (if you can even find one).

I'm in British Columbia and we must have a front plate. When I first got my 348 I stopped at the local Police station and enquired about my dilemma having no front plate mount. I suggested to the officer that I intended to "cut" the plate to narrow it so I could Velcro it to the bumper. He shook his head disapprovingly and informed me that I was really "renting" the licence plates on an annual basis and can not cut the plate. Then with a nod and a wink said "they can get bent though" I then simply folded back a strip along the top and again along the bottom of the plate in a sheet metal brake careful not to obscure any numbers or letters. then simply cover back side of plate with Velcro and the corresponding Velcro glued to the bumper. Done

The factory holder I've seen is completely different, mounts over the grill. Don't have a photo, but seems consistent with the parts diagram and is not expensive by Ferrari parts standards.
