    Texas of course!
Was looking for some lightweight seats around 14LBS at first, but so far the only nice reasonably priced seats I've found are some black leather and suede Recaro's.

Who's got after market seats, and any recommendations on what seats that are ok for track, but also some comfort for good periods of road time with my already supper stiff and supper low suspension, and on where to buy them? Need to get the interior back together so I can actually drive it, and plan the upcoming major service :)

I'd also would love to know if anyone has successfully managed to lower the seat maybe 1-2" with aftermarket seats.

I have omp seats now that I didn't want to bother to recover that do that, more headroom :)

OMP ARS FG racing seat gets you to 19lbs. for about $700. To get less than that you need to go CF, but around $2800 per seat.

I can't imagine any adjustable leather seat is going to weigh any less.

With the right brackets the OMP can be mounted to sliders, but if you mount it fixed you can get about 1 1/2 in. more head room.

I mounted the OMP ARS FG and its reasonably comfortable. Add lumbar support. I mounted it to the slider at first, but I was hitting the top without a helmet even. Removed the slider and is much better just mounted to the floor.

What is involved in mounting them to the floor, did you have to drill anything? I've only ever mounted recaro seats to a 911, but used the stock sliders in that case and it wasn't obvious how they'd mount to the floor...

Unfortunately it took quite a bit. If you can weld or have access to that it may be easier. Mounting hardware from Ferrari is $625, from OMP it's $390 (but no longer available). I was able to find part of it from a used 355 CH for $100 and then made an angle piece for the front mount out of $14 angle aluminum.

You really just need a flat plate with a right angle bend that mounts to the floor then you mount the up right bracket to that.

If using universal sliders, they bolt through the floor through the stock holes, and the bottom of the seat was bolted to the sliders, no brackets, and the sliders hardly add 1/4" to the seat hight.

OMP ARS seat and most fixed back race seats use side mounts not bottom mounts. Sliders add about an inch.
