Has anyone else here read the new Brock Yates book about the 1955 racing season, "Against Death and Time?" I am a Yates fan and enjoyed the book, but found the "faction" approach off-putting; I preferred the facts to the fiction. Also, the book is perhaps the most poorly proofread work I've ever encountered.

I have not read it but plan to. Yates is a good writer, but every book he has written has been poorly proofread. Remember his Ferrari book?

I haven't read his Ferrari book, but plan to pick it up; I've read the Cannonball Run book. The proofreading errors are surprising in the computer era - a simple spell check sweep through the manuscript would have caught most of the errors. Don't mean to nitpick the book, I mentioned it only because it surprised me - maybe it's part of the Yates persona, big fingers on an old manual typewriter, errors in scanning not picked up? ;)
