A question to the F430 drivers w/ F1 out there.
What is normal for an aggressive start in race mode (non-LC)? From a stand still 1st gear, race mode, then just 100% throttle using the F1 tranny.

Lots of clutch slippage around 4k rpms, then on and off wheel spin until you finally get up to speed?

    Thanks!

Not an F430 driver but with any high horse power car with traditional clutch, you want to make sure your clutch is fully engaged and the car is moving before you floor it. Holds for manual and F1 transmissions.

Of course, I thought the F1 had some "cleverness" to it. To basically rip it and go... Just wondering if this is everyone's experience.

Although I haven't done it more than a couple of times, I've observed a slight delay until the tranny hooks up when I get on the gas hard in my scud from a stop. I also put the car in LC once and took off with maybe 50% throttle and the car immediately launched, as you'd expect (depressed throttle after releasing the brake). That said, I agree with others who advise allowing the transmission to engage before you go too hard on the throttle. These cars are not intended for drag racing and repeated hard launches/starts will mean a clutch replacement is in your near future.
