    Has anyone found an equivalent for 1982 A/C Compressor oil agip ter 60 - my compressor works well but when I pulled it to change t-belts the oil is measuring low and I wanted to top it off. Compressor: Aspera HG 700 AP

    ps: I use Freeze12 with good results in the system

    You can get compressor oil at just about any auto parts store. They have two types, one suitable for R12 and one suitable for 134. So just get a bottle of the 134-type and you'll be fine (Freeze 12 is 134). Originally your car would have had R12 so since it's working OK with 134, it must have been converted sometime in the past and the system was flushed and the correct oil installed at that time. The two different oils will not mix and will cause the system - primarily the exp valve - to clog.

    Hi Mike - Thanks for the reply - Just to check for understanding this oil is NOT the system oil mixed with the R12 / R134 - It is the oil in the 'crank case' of the compressor (11 oz) Ferrari states to lay the compressor on the side and using a 'dip stick' measure the level - thinking this oil is different then the system oil - Unless I'm mis understanding the manual......

    Same thing.

    There is no such thing as crankcase only oil in an A/C compressor.

    Hi the AC in my Mondial 3.2 1988 stopped working. How can I check which compressor oil should I use R12 substitute or R134a? Will there be an appropriate plug to define which one to use?

    Can anyone point me into where and how to check the oil level? @waymar mentioned unscrewing screw 23 (pic above) but should I then screw something in instead?

    I'm thinking about buying this kit: https://fixclima.eu/en/produkt/kit-r134a-box-cable-with-pressure-gauge-hp-lp-adapter/
    Which should include the adapter for retro cars, but I don't see any thread in the adapter to go in instead of screw 23.

    Screw 23 is for checking the oil level, not filling with refrigerant. You need to make your self a dipstick as shown:

    To charge the system with the kit you mentioned, you will also need adapters. Something like these, which fit on the exiting Rotalock fittings. This is where the refrigerant is added. ;

    Hey @Freddie328 thank you for the answer. I believe the kit I linked includes the adapter, so that should be fine.

    The second pic you posted is unreadable. I assume it shows the position of "exiting Rotalock fittings". Can you try posting that again or forward a better format to me directly to [email protected] ?
    Or at least tell me where to look it up? I have a Mondial 3.2 manuals and Mondial 8 service book.

    Again huge thanks!

    I think the deformed image is the same image that shows the compressor. The Rotalock valves are the two valves on the compressor cylinder head. One for low side, the other high side.
    This image is from the Mondial Quattrovalvole workshop manual. The rotalocks will have 1/4" SAE male connections for the gauges/charging/vacuuming etc. So you need to check the kit has adapters that fit these thread sizes.
