Just a thought that we might all benefit from updating our agreed value insurance amount as prices are rising for our model too. Prices for $55k agreed value with $300k coverage and no deductible range from $900 (Hagerty) to $420 (USAA).

Anyone have experience (good or bad) with any agreed value insurance carriers?

I pay like $675 a year for four cars with Hagarty. Agreed value $35k.
The other cars are a 1981 Lancia Beta Zagato, 1979 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV, 1988 Alfa Romeo Milano Verde.

The reason USAA is higher is they only broker the agreed coverage. It ends up at American Collectors and Hagarty has them beat.

I have Grundy via a Philly agent. My agreed value is $30K (no deductible) with a premium of $204 for the agreed value and total premium of $471 with $500K liability, $250K medical and $250 towing.

They raise agreed value 4% a year. A couple of years ago I pushed back on the increase but I am letting it increase now, especially since I sold second car on policy.

I think the operative word here is experience,…i.e.,e.g., claims experience.

After all, isn't that what separates the men from the boys in the insurance business. That whole claims experience is huge! Here's JD Power's take:

    2014 U.S. Auto Insurance Study | J.D. Power

And check out USAA's rating :D
But the references to premiums paid is good side info.! I remember switching from Hagerty to USAA (American Collector's) because of the rate decrease. And I think the premiums are going to vary from location to location due to past claims.

I've been carrying a $37,500. agreed value for quite some time & I should give Hagerty a call to see how their rate compares with USAA's.

I think that is who I am going to go with this time as well. I had Grundy but when I quoted $55k rather than the $35k I have now the price nearly doubled.

I've had USAA from the day I bought my Porsche 356B 45 years ago. I have also had them do all the other cars as they came and went. It was USAA that recommended a stated value policy on the 356. At the time American Collectors was nearly double Hagerty's quote. So I reluctantly removed the Porsche from its long time insurer and went to Hagerty. I also remember Amreican Collectors being pretty alergic to the idea you might actually drive a car they insured.

Thankfully I have not had a claim to test Hagerty but I can tell you their road service is outstanding. When I needed it I was out standing on a lonely road in the Ozarks. The 400i and I were rescued within an hour.

Hagerty seems to be an agent for an insurer based in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
