Just reminiscing over some of our best drives, looking at pictures from Mendocino runs 1 and 2. Can't wait til our 3rd annual summer run (hopefully w/ less incident than last year...ahem...Lox/me...ahem).

Hopefully we'll have some of the regulars like V-man, Luke, Matt, Art, Gary, etc. show up for this drive, huh?

All in all, I'd say we've had some kick-ass drives - San Juan Bautista (Gary should remember 25 and King City), the Mendo runs, the weekend meets, etc.

With the coming spring/summer, I think we should kick it up a bit. I know there's always Monterey in August, and the double 500 which I think a bunch of us will do, I know Peter's been wanting to put on the gold country drive, and we've also got the soon-to-come Henry Tran Memorial Drive, 3rd annual Mendocino run, perhaps another visit down south (hearst castle anyone?), and naturally Scuderia Rampage.

I'm *psyched* about '05 and what the NorCal crew will put together. Should be good times. Can't wait to smell TVR exhaust once again!

I went on the 2nd mendocino run and it was a blast once I fouind everyone again. Can't wait for the next drive.

I have some cruises that I have put together for another car club and have detailed directions if you need any help.

    Let me know.

BTW I had the Blue and white viper

What about the drive to Los Wages? That should be fun, depending on the road condition (read: snow) on 395 in late April.

You know, I originally wrote "Faisal's exhaust" and then CHANGED it to TVR, not even TVR's... but somehow I *knew* that would elicit something from you... but Dave, since it keeps coming to mind, and so often, one has to wonder about ya buddy! :D A double-edged sword no doubt ;)

Nada mucho. Just got back from a business trip out east. Getting a real track jones...but I will be instructing next weekend in my first 2005 track event, so it should be satisfied.

    You?

Getting the heeby jeebies about not getting on track enough. Looking at 944 turbos that have been prepped (bolt on stuff + roll cage, fuel cells, adj. suspension, seats + harnesses) - basically something resembling a momentum car where someone else spent the cash.

There are *tons* to choose from. Hopefully I'll find a car (looking @ one in houston while i'm there next weekend), but there are lots of local cars to choose from and support for the platform.

Getting the itch....bad... what're you instructing next weekend (club, cars, etc)?

We're going to be doing a motorcycle track day at Thunder Hill end of next month. Get a bike, and we'll see how fast you are.

Wow Art. Your standard M.O. is to go along with the program and disappear at the last possible second. Dave hasn't even hinted that he will be there, nor has Mike, so why such an early set up for your standard vanishing act?

You know I decided against killing myself. Definetly *not* going to get a bike for the road. maybe for track - but if i do I want to spend time with your friend the racer/instructor.

Great moderation: remove posts that you believed were offensive, then post something similar yourself!!!! Suggestion: grow up, you've been given a position of authoritry, attempt to grow into the role, rather than down into behavior that your supposed to control.

As for my coming to Vegas: I've left my options open: either truck the car down, or drive it. 395 can and does have snow on it in April, so I like to leave my options open. I'll be there for the Rampage, just don't know if I'm driving or flying to get there.

Be careful about 944 Turbos...they have lots of recurring "issues", as do most turbocharged race cars.

I am instructing for a group called Drivers Edge (www.thedriversedge.net) that puts on track events in Texas not based on a specific brand of car. And at the very end of February, I am also instructing for a Porsche Club event.

Cool on DE, checking the site now.

Can you expand on 'recurring issues'?

Hah, I felt like I was holding you up while you were in the M3... :D You were RIGHT there :D

I love how the only other cars we saw were two NSXs going the other way ;)

IIRC, the 944T has serious bearing issues, as well as turbo heat sink issues. If it is a well-prepared full race car, the builder doubtlessly fixed both. But if it is a street car with seats & cage, buy it cheaply...

Heh, ditto that. Art has earned the right to call us a bunch of sissies for, oh, ever.

The Rock Stars haven't gone anywhere, I think they've been in hibernation! Mendo III and Hearst Castle (whore's castle?) amoungst others, are drives to look forward to in 2005. We should storm Napa valley with Vincent's help too! :D

The 308 looks familiar. Is that Devivo's old car?
