Please mark on your Calender October 30,2004. In downtown Aiken S.C. will be the AIKEN EXOTIC CAR FESTIVAL. The benefactor of this show will be "FRIENDS OF AIKEN RAILROAD DEPOT". This is a civic group who wants to rebuild the Aiken Passenger Depot to its Original state in 1898. The show will be Saturday. There will be a "WELCOME TO AIKEN" Gathering on Fridat Night and an awards gala on Saturday night. Plenty of things for the ladies to do.
For more information the email is [email protected].
ALL PROCEEDS from everything exept the entry fee go to the charity "NO ADMINISTRATION FEES WILL BE APPLIED" The entry fee of $40.00 will be used to cover the expenses of the show. There will be trophies (crystal trophies with an award certificate for your wall) plus other special trophies.
Would like to hear from any qualified judges for the Ferrari classes. There will be 3 or 4. VERY LIMITED SPACE since it is in downtown Aiken on NEWBERRY STREET. Want to know more about Aiken www.aiken.net. For more information e-mail or call the Leatherique Office or Aiken Downtown Development.
It should be a great time at a wonderful venue.

Third is the Guesthouse at Houndslake C.C. about 4 miles. VERY SECURE parking and reasonable rates. Will publish all rates and discounts by 6/1/2004.

City fathers are 100% behind the venue. Trophies are from Waterford and Gorham Crystal. 1st and 2nd in each class. LOOKING FOR JUDGES for the classes. Entry blanks will be available in Early July and we are only taking 140 total entries due to the siz eof the show area. Lots of Local interest and other clubs. Will keep you up to date. If you want to be on the SEECARR Email list (free) just shot me an EMAIL.

Will these be "Concours Style" classes looking for originality, or will modifications be acceptable? What is the judging criteria?

Mike this year, 2004, unless I get TRUE CONCOURS QUALIFIED JUDGES we will not be getting into the "VALVE STEM COVER" type of judging. The best way to look at it is the nicer car wath the most EYE APPEAL will probably win. There are chances in the future to look at the TINY THINGS. But I do not want to chase away people with a car that they have made a real piece of eye candy because of "TO MANY HORSES". The board at SEECARR will set a criteria for each class so as to keep the EXOTIC CAR FESTIVAL THEME in tact but not go overboard.
Some may read this and say that we are "NOT A CONCOURS" they are correct. When, not if, when we reach that point we will adjust but I will not ever keep out a true Exotic.
Do not read this that we will have a Chevy Powered Ferrari and call it one. If somebody has a Chevy powered Ferrari and wants to bring it, that is what the Aiken Horsepower Association meets are for. They will be there on display in another area of the venue and feature Rods, Customs and such.
    Thank you for the question.

I support your approach. I think that SEECARR can and should be more flexible and use the "eye appeal" criteria rather than pure "originality concours". We have other venues for that, and SEECARR would be a good place for more variety and allow for personal preferences and minor or cosmetic enhancements to participant's cars.
