Hello to all, I've got a 1996 F355 Spider and out of the blue the Air Bag light came on and will not go off. I've checked the OBDII and no error codes. Any ideas of what is the issue? Thanks in advance. Roger
Our vintage OBDII will not pick up airbag or ABS codes. new ones will, but don't bother getting the new OBDII / Airbag / ABS reader for 355 as those codes aren't passed through on our cars (too old). Not a lot you can do. Kill the battery switch for an extended period (over night) and try again. If that fails to fix it, you are going to have to listen to Dave and take it in to be reset with an SD computer.
As others have said removing airbag or instruments with power on or accidently turning power on will cause this. The way you describe what happen makes us all assume you did not do anything other than turn on the key and start the car. This should not have set it off. Possibly previous owner unplugged bulb but somehow it reconnected or they taped over light and somehow this became loose and fell off. On,y scenarios i can think of. Possible boosting car or intermittent battery connection maybe but not likely.
Roger, where are you? Many dealers will do this simple thing at no charge as a relationship favor. Try asking one.
