My 15 years old compressor is on its last leg and I need to replace it.

    30 gallons minimum
    150 psi
    >6 cubic feet air flow
runs on 120 or 240 (possible)

and it has to be super quiet.

I have been doing some research but I need a second/third opinion. Do you have any recommendations?

15 year life is worse than Harbor Freight quality.

The motor number which makes a difference is rpm. 3450 rpm means cheap and loud. 1750 rpm are twice as expensive but last for centuries.

15 years old? It was probably American made and only needs a re-ringing. If it was a good brand it only needs rebuilding, not replacing.

    +1.

If you do need to replace - Ingersoll-Rand, 2-stage, 240 V, with water and oil traps. Not inexpensive, but do it right, once.

it was a Sears compressor. The motor is old and tired and keeps tripping the circuit breaker. It no longer reaches its maximum PSI rating. And it is loud as hell. I am done with that.

mine died last weekend. it was a 11 year old Sears or Harbor Freight, the decals were gone so I have no idea. i went to Home depot and bought the biggest portable one they had for $249.00 I think its a 26 Gal Husky.

Should be good enough for what i need.

Its MUCH quieter than my old one!
