Before I put my freshly coated air filter housing back, I want to carry out some form of modification to lower the housing to prevent fouling the top on the engine lid.

Im guessing the easy answer is to lower the rubber mounts in the CIS unit but I can't seem to find any mounts with dimensions on.

Anyone come across this issue before?

Uhhh, and what kind of car do you have? If it's an injection car, don't think you can lower and shouldn't have to. It's not supposed to touch :)

Sorry, 308 GTSi. It's been touching for a long time before purchase as the grill in the lid is also worn!

Hmmmmm...the bottom of the aircleaner will be stopped by the Bosch. Step back and look at every variable and do some test fitting. Of course, there's always a sawzall :(

I did think about taking a little off the bottom of the air filter housing, but thought it a bit drastic.

I could cut the rubber mounts and put a bolt up through them I guess, thus lowering the main unit.

McMaster sells the mounts in a shorter size. It works. We just confirmed today that my box isn't touching anymore. Now I need to get my airbox redone.
