I've seen AF1 at Andrews at it's always under guard. I wasn't buying the story.

    Pretty funny though.

I would paint it in Airbus livery.

    Maybe Iraqi Airways.

    Or Air National Guard? :)

Maybe have Bush plastered over the nose cone like that funny one of the Santa Claus--I think that was Southwest Airlines?

I'd start the California Gold rush all over again. Just for the complete hell of it.
With all the rains we have been sent, the ground has washed away soil in El Dorado County revealing undiscoverd gold nuggets and ore since 1849.

He paid 50k just for the paintjob, thats not including the people involved...

I know the guy who's group got paid by Marc Ecko to do that project. And there are true and false things about this video...

YES they did actually jump the fence and sneak onto an actual airforce base, the police driving by in the film are real. They didn't sneak onto the airforce base where AF1 is at. This video is made up of 2 different segments combined, and I did ask but he wouldn't say how much Ecko paid except for "In the Millions..."

marc ecko got much criticism in the graffiti world for this stunt, the "core" group all hate Ecko. They say he has no talent, this and that, blah blah blah..

But either way he brings in money :)

AF1 is in a hangar it isn't left on a tarmac. It is guarded by marines that I'm sure would love to shoot you more then chase you.

The custom predates Bush. Whatever aircraft the President travels on takes the callsign "One", prefixed by the branch of service providing transport - Air Force One, Marine One (the helicopters), etc. The VP gets the callsign "Two".

While on active duty I was part of the exterior guard once for about an hour when AF1 was in Charlotte. There was a sealed gate to access the area. We were told to shoot to kill anyone that even tried to come in another way. Dont chase, just kill. It was deemed better to kill a little bit than to be drawn from the aircraft.

Yep. Gen, in the US anyway, people see about 50 battle dressed Marines they do not tend to take them on.

I was on AF1 the other day....the security is tight to say the least, especially at Andrews (I went aboard in Waco) those guys would have been swiss cheese the second they jumped that fence.

I just saw AF1 in Palm Springs ... the plane looked amazing. This was my first time seeing the AF1. I couldn't believe the support that came with it - three C-130s were adjacent to AF1. Motorcade was well equipped too ... lot's of MIB.

I've seen Marine-1 once when 43 visited Camp Pendleton. Marine-1 flew about 1/4 from my house.

This is very true. I did a little work on AF1 once and there is a painted line on the tarmac at Andrew's AFB that separates the planes from the hangers when they are not in the hanger. I can't remember exactly, but I think it was called the red line. Anyway, if you crossed this line without going through an official checkpoint, you could be shot dead. The checkpoints were little guard shacks that peppered the line every hundred feet or so. It was a little unnerving to think that if you walked over a four-inch painted line you could be forfeiting your life.

I would have thought they were jumping the fence at Mojave or some similar boneyard field, where they have plenty of 747s sitting around. Why take chances getting arrested or shot at an AFB?

Well aren't there older AF1s also? Perhaps one in storage / not in use?
