So I need to change my forward bank (facing front of car) air injection check valve and it is frozen in place. I have treated it with PB Blaster in hope of loosening it up but no joy. I assume it removes in a counter clockwise motion?? Am I tightening versus loosening??

Any ideas or tips on cracking the nut would be appreciated!

Yes, it is a "normal" (right hand) thread. Be sure to use a wrench on the air manifold side to resist the torque -- you don't want to break the air manifold.

Thanks for the quick replies. Yeah I assummed right hand thread just making sure. Did the double wrench technique but from the top with no success limited space for leverage. I guess the next attempt will be from underneath the engine.

    Underneath is not easier.

Remove the hood if you have not already.

+1. The hood makes many service efforts much more difficult, if not impossible. I like Liquid Wrench. Be patient! Get your backup wrench carefully positioned. Maybe put some towels, cardboard etc around the bodywork and back glass to protect from inadvertant wrnch contact. If you break the air rail, the job gets a whole lot more fun.

I was really worried about breaking the air manifold, there is alot of corrosion potential from the exhasut gases in there, over many years, mine was the 21 year old original item (and one failed from corrosion). Rather than take chances when it was clear that with two wrenches alot of pressure was needed, I dremel tooled a slit in the side over the threaded area, and put on penetrating oil. It then came off without much risk of damage. A little score left on the treads, but nothing serious. Put anitseeze compound on the new one.

It's not shown in the available online (euro) 308 SPCs at the parts suppliers because it is for a US version only. If you look on TAV 9 in the 161/78 US 308GTB/S SPC (that you can get online from http://ferrari.cdyn.com) they are items 27, or, if you look in the online non-abs 328 SPC, they are shown on TAV 9, items 3.
