430 Air intake manifold red paint???

I believe it’s a powder coat that can’t really be touched up. However, I did see spray on wrinkle paint at OReilly’s recently. Might be close enough if it’s a small spot.

 

I believe you mean the air plenum not intake manifold. There should be various threads on this available on fchat. I believe the 430 and 360 are the same color, and I was told years ago 360 is Rosa Cora’s red with additive to crinkle.

Stock plenum is not powder coated but painted. I would advise against spraying ORiley’s shelf paints, it wont match.

The color seems be available from Riloplast in Italy but I have not found a way to source it in the US.

 

From a previous thread, I bought some and had a set powder coated just for some garage art !!!

What I did...I recently repainted mine back to red (was black), so I just used the crinkle paint just to get the texture, then sprayed a topcoat with the closest red I could find. It's definitely not as nice as it was from Ferrari but I guess it'll do for my jalopy.

That powder coat looks sweet.

I had my 360 plenum done in similar powder coat finish. I loved it until I went to a C&C and I saw mine side by side with a 360 with original painted plenum.

Slightly different shade of red than original (a little more orange) and the powder coat wrinkle is less pronounced than original paint.

I have a name of someone I contacted in the past who has done many of these. If you want it PM me. He is the guy that told me its Rosa corsa red with a wrinkle additive.

If it is a few small flakes id order a touch up vial of Roso corsa without additive for like 25 bucks. Dab a bit with a small touch up swab or brush. If its more extensive and you are not experienced with paint, send it out to be redone.

Be careful when the powder coaters sand blast the plenums or valve covers. You would be amazed at how little care some of them have for their fine sand getting into the item's crevices when they strip them. I have seen an engine (was a powder coated set of valve covers) and a power steering system (was a powder coated power steering reservoir tank) destroyed from the sand blasting media used before powder coating. After seeing those two incidents, I started checking them more for friends, etc, and some parts had to be literally thrown away after powder coating because they could no longer be used because of the risk after the sand blasting media getting so far into some parts. Multiple big powder coating shops did this Just letting you guys know. be VERY cautious.
