Do you mean Alitalia? The name Alitalia is a play on words meaning wings of Italy. I have flown them quite a bit. No complaints since they prohibited smoking.

Don't do it. Worst airline I have ever flown with, and I have flown with some pretty obscure ones. Extremely old and dirty planes, crap service, and pilots who seem intent on driving like Michael Schumacher when you're on the tarmac. I avoid them like the plague and know many others who refuse to fly with them again too.

Just resumed operations under new owner about a year ago. They tanked and ceased operations for a bit.

    Partly owned by Air France.

Pilots have announced that they will go on a short strike soon.

Paint scheme is ugly (especially if you're red/green color-blind).

    I flew Alitalia.

    To Bari.

Unfortunately, I did not fly it out of Bari.

This was when the Americans took over the airport and were flying sorties into Bosnia.

The Good Part: We sat on the Adriatic and ate huge prawns, drank good wine and watch fighter jets fly over the water toward Bosnia.

The Bad Part: We had to take the dirty smoke-filled stinky crappy EuroStar to Rome because the Yanks took over the Bari airport.

The REALLY Bad Part: POS Alitalia never refunded our money despite the fact they said they would.
