    Hey all,

When i bought my 456gta it had the airbag light on. My guess is someone poorly tried to reupholster the dash (I plan on redoing). However i have to stare at this dreaded airbag light. I bought an autel maxisys scanner and can’t reset the light (my guess is the age) Oddly enough i don’t have anyone that can even see me right now for service. Are there any alternatives to resetting the airbag light or cost effective tools? Thank you all!

    No easy way.

You either remove the binnacle and remove the lamp or temporarily disable the system entirely by pulling plugs.

I don't have any wiring diagrams for the 456GT/GTA, but the parts manual shows a plug here:

Just look for any wiring with a yellow plastic sheath. Of course, use the battery disconnect switch before disconnecting any airbag wiring.

The 456M system looks quite different. It has a two pin connector here (for power to the Airbag Module and for the signal to the light):

Regarding my first image. It was noted on the 456M, that the airbag harness connector "under the dash" was a lot closer to the ECU than shown in diagrams (i.e. only 9 inches from the ECU). I hope your plug isn't buried under the console rather than behind one of those side panels.
