    Hi everybody :)

I searched for my own answer without any luck, so I thought I'd start a new thread to try and get some help.

I swapped out my Daytona seats for Scuderia seats a few years ago and have been living with the airbag light ever since. Now that it's time to sell the car, I want to fix this issue. I thought it would just need to be reset with an SD3, but that's not the case. I've replaced the F430 airbag ecu with one from the Scuderia that all of my interior parts came from without any luck. The harness coming out of the seat doesn't match up with what's in the car. I'm waiting to hear back from the guy with the Scuderia parts to see if he has the harness from the airbag ecu to the seat, but still haven't heard back. Just thought I'd toss this out there and see if anyone who has swapped seats like I have has been able to cancel out the light. Ricambi only lists a central wiring harness, and nothing going to the seats. Supposedly, this harness is NLA anyway.

    THANKS!

PS- I sold the Daytona seats, so I can't just swap them back.

I hope you can figure it out. I also have the same annoying light from installing Scud Seats.

Do you chaps have airbags in the stock F430 seats?

I have Scuderia seats and the only thing I had to do was fit the Scuderia seat belt clasp warning sensor plug.

I think he just means the seat belt receptacle sensor that makes it buzz at you for not wearing your seat belt.

    Yes, that's the one Eric.

George, I just checked the wiring diagrams and some cars have a passenger presence sensor and seat belt pre-tensioners. If either of those are disconnected the airbag light would illuminate.

Are you able to take a photo of the connector that is no longer connected, showing the wire colours?

    Hi Mark

When I get home I'll pull out the seat and take some photos. Probably a couple of hours. I'm aware of the cpod sensor. It's just that the plugs don't match up, and neither do the wire colors. I don't recall what they are right now though.

I'll post up the photos in a couple of hours.

    THANKS!!

My 2007 430 had the Scud seats put in by a previous owner. Came stock with Daytona seats. I have had no airbag light in my 4.5 years of ownership. Not sure what was done but if I can help in any way let me know.

Well that's disappointing...I was hoping the photos would be visible. :-(

I'll try to make a couple of comments in this post.

The connector with pink/white, brown/black and black wires matches the disconnected connector on the drivers side, so I assume its for the power seats.

The connector with the "passaggero" label matches the connector on the drivers side labeled "pilota." This connector is plugged into the seatbelt.

Thanks you for the offer to help!

My car is an '07 as well. Does your passenger seat have the "Baby Smart" label on the right side thigh bolster? Do you know if the connector from the seat is plugged into anything? I'd love to know why you don't have the light while others do!!

I do have the baby smart label. I reached under the seat and pulled forward a connector, one side is a blue female insert with 3 wires, yellow, black and red. It is plugged into a black male connector with 2 black wires and 1 red wire. There is also an unplugged connector that I assume is for the electric Daytonas.

Well that's interesting. Is it the same connector that I posted in POST #10, first photo? Don't know if it matters, but can you see which wire corresponds to which wire?

THANK YOU for taking the time to check it out! That's some pretty solid evidence that something can be done...now to figure out where the previous owner got the harness. I assume it connects into the harness leading to the airbag ecu under the center console.

    THANKS :)

    OK, George.

    On your F430:

Seat occupancy sensor / CPOD (green 3 pin connector)
    1 | Sense | Yellow
    2 | Positive | Brown/Red
    3 | Earth | Black

Seat heating/power (black 3 pin with orange weather seal)
    1 | Positive | Pink
    2 | Earth | Black

Seat belt clasp sensor (black 3 pin with grey insert)
    1 | Instrument cluster seat belt warning | Pink/white
    2 | Earth | Black
3 | Instrument cluster seat heating indicator lamp | Black/orange

The grey 3 pin plug hanging from the bottom of the Scuderia seat is the occupancy sensor, and unfortunately the factory diagrams end at the connector. Third party parts like these Sparco seats sometimes have wiring colours that the factory literature doesn't cover.

The heating/power cables can be left unplugged and will be OK (maybe tape them up with some fabric tape).

The seat belt clasp warning wires should be connected.

In the mean time I will investigate the Sparco wiring colours for the CPOD. Note that once the wires are connected an SD3 or similar is required to clear the SRS code (the light will still illuminate until this is done).

Here is the CPOD sensor plug on the Scuderia for reference. Not much help unfortunately.

Do you still have your old seats? What do the colours used on the seat side CPOD correspond to on the car loom side?

Wow Mark, that's some valuable information! All of us who are dealing with this issue are grateful to you!! Can't thank you enough for taking the time to help!

Unfortunately, I sold my old seats, so they're no help. Another question...my Scud passenger seat does not have a seatbelt clasp warning wiring harness. The drivers side does, is hooked up, and works properly. The seatbelt light on the dash goes out as soon as I buckle my seatbelt and doesn't care if the passenger does or not.

Have I mentioned that I have installed the Scud. airbag ecu in hopes that this would cure the problem? It hasn't made a difference. And by the way, my mechanic has the SD3, so he'll be able to clear the code when necessary.

Here is a photo someone sent me of their Scud. CPOD harness connected into their F430. He has no airbag warning light. The connector in the photo is a TYCO 1 968700-1-A, if that helps. The wire colors of the harness coming out of the seat do not match mine.

No problem. The Scuderia airbag ECU also expects a CPOD so you're in the same situation as with the F430 ECU. A Euro ECU does not expect a CPOD so that is one avenue, but the wires are there in the seat so we should be able to figure this out.

Are the pins on your Scuderia seat plug labelled 1,2, and 3?
