    So airbag light went on with no airbag deployment or fender bender. I could not get my X431 to read or reset the module so sent to Safety Restore and they just emailed me that a chip inside is bad and not communicating.

    If I get another unit does it have to be programmed to the car?

    That's how it started when the alternator broke down in my 550 Maranello. Switching off the more unnecessary power consumers first, the airbags being one of them. Just a thought...
