Was it gloss or flat wrinkle black originally on the 328? Using VHT wrinkle black but pretty glossy which is not what mine looked like before painting. If flat, I'll spritz over the wrinkle with flat black.

Gave up on the stencil so not sure what I'll do, maybe use a local silkscreener if possible.

Jeff, I believe the original finish is flat, not glossy. The first photo is one I took of my original air filter housing lid to mark the UFI logo dimensions before refinishing it. You'll notice that the original finish is textured, not wrinkled like the plenum. I had my air filter housing powder coated with a similar textured finish and I purchased a silk screen UFI logo from one of the members here but I have yet to put it on. In case you're wondering what the cap is for on the bottom of the air filter housing in the 3rd photo, I removed the air injection system and thus needed to close off the opening.

Yes, real nice. Pictures helpful too, with measurement, but mine only has the Ferrari with spa, none of the UFI stuff. I wonder if the Ferrari lettering is in the same position on mine then as yours. Mines an 89 can anyone confirm that? Maybe it's more centered since shorter......

My 328 is an 86. I'm sure someone more knowlegable than I will chime in, but I believe the logo on the 328 air filter housing changed to the single "Ferrari" without the UFI details for the 87 model year (see post #81 http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=322250&page=5.) I didn't read through the whole thread but maybe there's some info in there regarding positioning of the single Ferrari logo.

    Guys-

I have an 87 and my air box has just the single Ferrari logo.

Has anyone used the wrinkle finish paint sold by Eastwood to refinish their airbox? Can it be used for touchups? I have a few chips I like to fix but I don't need to repaint the whole thing. Thanks.

My 89 just had the Ferrari logo on the lid, but it also had the UFI logo on the back of the lower part of the thing.
