    This article was in our local Sunday paper today. I have been to Wittman Field and the EAA several times but had never heard of Basler Turbo Conversions. They find DC-3's and basically rebuild them as "new" airplanes, with P&W turboprop engines, and a lengthened fuselage.

    Baslers are really neat conversions, but IMHO a DC-3 (while still a really solid airframe) loses much of it's soul when you convert to the PT6...


    I think Ken Borek Air operates two of them too, and I hear that Buffalo has one somewhere (Red Deer?) that is hung up in the importation process...
