Thanks, Lou, for letting us know a bit of what your job is really like. When I saw the snow at O'Hare, it reminded me a bit of the movie "Airport". Glad you didn't have to deal with "conga lines" or mad bombers. P.S. Love your choice of wrapping paper!
omg,,, that has go to be the best short video I have seen for a while,,, perfectly put together for viewer enjoyment. You have got to be a "wannabe producer" lol, you must have a You Tube channel? , flip flops in the snow - hilarious, so CA (I think) Thanks for sharing, pretty generous of you
Should have edited in ATC advising you of traffic and showing Santa crossing below you. Great vid. Sent from my LG-TP260 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
This video is a Christmas gift from you to us, LouB747. You let us see a slice of your family and work life. Thank you!
That is a great video! The flip flops were a good choice. Any chance your around early next week? I'm flying into John Wayne and plane on visiting Huntington Beach / Newport on Tuesday night.
Thanks for sharing! Very creative and fun to watch. Edit: Whoa, is that a Mazda small SUV in the cargo hold? Freight must cost more than the car itself! LOL
Thanks for all the kind words. Yeah, I live in flip flops. I have a YouTube channel. Mostly about “finding snakes”, but I have an aviation section too.....
Lou, at your airline do you end up flying a lot of holidays? I know typical passenger airline guys are busiest over Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I wasn't sure about the cargo side.
IFR charts make the best wrapping paper for all occasions. Unfortunately I’m almost out of them now that we’ve been on EFB’s for a while.
Thanks for the additional videos! You have a really good zoom on that camera and it makes it look very close, but obviously you're far out when you zoom out.
This is the first Christmas I’ve worked in the last 15 years. Thanksgiving is normal flying. Before Christmas there’s a pretty big spike in cargo traffic, and then it’s dead until after New Year. Those videos were from 1000 to 2000 feet separation. Flying the same direction over the pacific at 1000 feet is awesome....
Great stuff! That A380 may have come from Atlanta, since as far as I know, KAL is still the only airline flying one to ATL.
There's seriously only one airline flying A380s to ATL? The busiest airport in the world? I would think Air France makes that trip. That's crazy...never would have guessed that.
Really fun and good stuff, Lou. There isn't another venue anywhere where a viewer can fly formation with an A380 at 30,000 ft. Love it! I just saw an article in the Sunday paper where a Yellow Bellied venomous sea snake came ashore on Newport Beach. Better get over there, Lou.
To my knowledge, Air France only flies 777s to ATL. Most of the jumbos at ATL's international terminal these days are 777s or A330s, and Delta often uses 767s as well. I haven't seen any 787s or A350s there yet.
Delta themselves have been flying A350's into ATL for a month or two now. Is KAL still using A380s to ATL? I thought they switched back to 777s.
