Sorry If this sounds silly for asking. Went for a walk last night with the family . The kids spotted this plane In the sky with the lights on . Now normally I would say , he is on approach and has his front landing lights on . But these where located on the rear of the plane . Lighting up its trail if you can imagine. Really didn't know how to answer the kids on why . First time for me seeing this. Any input ? I would love to know . Appreciate it !

where do you live? ..... SpaceX Falcon 9 launch? Booster came back and landed on droneship.

"On Wednesday, July 19 at 9:09 p.m. PT, Falcon 9 launched 15 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

approx 150 miles away. SpaceX launches there regularly (tho not nearly as much as from Cape Canaveral FL)
schedule info is public. You could get a hell of lot closer.

Takes a lot more energy to launch out of VAFB than Canaveral. Impressive that they can still recover the booster.

I believe that launch carried 15 Starlink satellites. Yesterday one from the Cape carried 22.
