Like many, I really like Alain de Cadenet! He is a great host, narrator, and very knowledgeable about so many things. He adds a lot of class to whatever he's involved with on television. But I found this video and thought it's quite amusing! Just thought I'd share it with all...

Sorry I posted this in the wrong category..... :-(

Usually, I'm pretty tough on "wrong section posts". But your own addmissiom of guilt takes away about 50% of the penalty. =)

Alan's link w/ ferrari's/Victory by design, etc takes another 25% away and the fact that it's actually a cool shot squashes the remaing 25%...so your good in my book.

Back on topic, did they have to do a retake because of the explitives at the end???

IMO Vintage WWII fighter planes (spitfires, Corsairs, P-51's, etc) produce some of the most incredible (mechanical) sounds known to man.

    Thanks for sharing

Thank You Meister, I was so enthusiastic to post this that I didn't think. I realized immediately after I posted that it was in the wrong section. So I edited the posting with my admission of guilt. I appreciate you letting me off with a warning :)

I've always liked Alain de Cadenet very much....he is so proffessional. It's good to see a moment like this. Most guys would have probably defficated on the spot....

My recollection is that the pilot was Ray Hanna ex RAF & Red Arrows who then was heavily involved in the warbird scene appearing most years at Goodwood until his death a couple of years ago

One year he flew along the pit straight so low that the footage which was shot looking down into his cockpit from the control tower was effectively banned by Britain's equivalent to the FAA

I'm glad Allen is still with us as there is a new standard for "a close pass".

I agree with Meister. The sounds are incredible. I was at Reno this year watching the Gold Cup Unlimited Race from a distance of 200 feet. I can assure you that the sight and sound of nine old warplanes making 4,000 hp filling the sky around you and doing 500mph is the stuff for adenaline junkies.
