488 Alarm /door lock question

My new-to-me 2018 488 seems to be set up so that if I pull the door handle while the car is locked the door opens and the alarm goes off. For most cars, if the door is locked when you pull the handle it either doesn't move or it moves but the door does not open and the alarm does not go off unless you force entry or try to tow it.
Is there a way to change the programming so the door does not open and the alarm does not go off when you pull the handle when the car is locked?

Sounds like everyone has the same situation, so it must be normal
