360 alarm issue. I am having a problem with my 2000 360. Recently I hopped into the car and hit the key fob to unlock the engine lock, and quickly turned the key to start. (probably to quickly) Now- I get no power to the car, clicking coming through the radio speakers, and constant siren. Nothing is resetting the condition. Disconnecting the battery, does not reset it. The battery tests good and has 13.2 volts. The siren times out on it own.

I have disconnected the battery and let it sit for several hours. Now when I reconnect the battery the siren immediately comes on, no power to the dash,. and flickering in the dome lights, and radio.

    Any ideas from the Community?

Replaced fob battery (I know stupid question..)

Checked fuses behind drivers seat? Immobilizer fuse corroded or blown?

Can you expand on this? Do you mean no instruments, no interior lights, no external lights, window movement....? i.e. with the ignition on. An immobiliser issue shouldn't take out the whole electrical system.

Where did you measure the battery voltage? At the battery or somewhere else?

I believe @Fcar_tech is hinting that you checked the battery with a battery tender attached. The battery may be faulty. When you turned on the ignition, perhaps the tender was trying to power the whole car. Assuming you use a battery tender, does it show the status of the battery?

I suppose you could have an issue with the battery cutoff switch. They have been known to fail on rare occasion. It might have gone high resistance. i.e. not enough current getting through.

Qavion, you caught that voltage# too.13+ volts,it was being charged while the reading was taken. Good job. Just because a battery has a "good" voltage reading doesn't make it a good battery. That's not how one should test a battery.
    That was easy..

Hello, it was not on a charger. It went from fully functional to dead battery within one start . There was not enough enough enough amperage to disengage the immobilizer.

    Earth, mostly ...
From the reading (13.2) you gave, they must have figured you read the battery voltage wrong or the battery wasn’t good..
Both Qavion and FcarTec picked up on that and questioned the voltage.. which was you problem. Glad your up and running.

To be honest, I didn't notice the voltage reading at first, but the overall power loss pointed to a core power issue (such as a battery or battery wiring problem). The alternator hadn't yet been brought into play.

It's amazing how many of these crazy 360 problems end up being resolved by a properly conditioned battery. When my mother was in Air Force Radio School (a place entirely unsuited to her), she told me she learned only one thing: First check the power source. That was back in the Korean war days and is still true today.
