    Hello:

Getting ready to program a new set of key fobs and just wanted to check if the alarm siren unit currently has a dead battery will affect setting up the new set of fobs.

    TIA

David- If it affects the flashing of the LED, yes it will. Makes it impossible for you to perform certain of the ECU reprogramming functions. You can try and see if the flashing works or if it passes through the siren curcuitry. It will not hurt anything to try and see if the LED comes on and goes off after you have entered the PIN and are going through the 10 cycles of the LED turning on and off. Here is the latest copy of the document with engine start and ECU reprogramming checklists.
