A couple weeks ago the alarm went off on my car (2008 612 OTO). I was nearby the car and there was no one near it, and no vehicles passed it causing noise or vibration. Today in two different spots where I parked, the alarm went off again. One time the car was in my direct sight and I know no one touched it. The second time I was close by and I am sure no one was near it. Meanwhile the car has been parked at my home and the alarm never trips.

The only thing I was thinking of was all three times it tripped both windows were down about an inch or two. Could a breeze going through the car have set off the motion sensing system? Does anyone think this could have been a factor, or have any other thoughts on the cause?

I would think perhaps that or the alarm siren might be going bad as in earlier models... But I'm not as familiar with newer models so take my comment with huge grain of salt. I'll defer to others...

My early model 360 alarm started acting up just like yours. Eventually I discovered that the electric connector at the alarm module wasn't fully seated. In other words, the little external latch on the plastic connector itself was not latching. Pushing it fully home until the latch clicked solved the problem.

    Yes.

There is a button on the console above that will deactivate the motion sensor if you insist on leaving the windows open when you arm the alarm. Otherwise, even the slightest cracked window will set the alarm off.

    Thanks for the answers guys.

I'm thinking (hopefully) that Eric is right. I'm away for the rest of the week, but this weekend I'll try some tests at home.
