Has anyone installed a lock controller from a 355 into a 348? I would not think it would be that hard. I am sick of having to use the key to unlock the doors, Scott

I have one in my car. I've never used the keys. It was in the car when I bought it.

I did think about aftermarket, but they always seem to blow-up after a year or two. Thats why I was wondering about a factory one. Daniel, does yours have the factory key-fobs????????? Scott

(I got the screws and the door works 10x better now)

They are all aftermarket. The 348's didn't have anything from the factory. Mine has worked for several years with no issues whatsoever.

The remote says "DEI", and I'm not sure who made the original system. There was an alarm in the car when I bought it, but I pulled about 70# of wire and stereo crap out of the trunk as soon as the car arrived home.

I understand the 348s didn't come with them. Since the doors/locking mechanisms are similar/same, someone might have retro-fitted a 355 system. That is what I was asking. Thanks for the replies, Scott

DEI (Directed Electronics) is the same company that makes the Viper alarms. They also make Hornet and some others as well. Clifford is usually pretty good too, also owned by DEI unless something has changed recently.

Viper is much better than the factory alarm/ keyless entry. I was having trouble with my factory system. Car was at dealer for a month to get repaired. Billed me $700 and couldn't fix it. Went aftermarket with Viper and it all works flawlessly. Granted I have only had the sytem 2 months. I had the same system on my NSX for 3+ years and vever had an issue. I think a well installed Viper system should give you years of protection, ease of entry, and better than Ferrari quality.
