As my emigration date looms closer, I must think of flogging my beloved red beast.

I've been putting it off and putting it off, but I can't no more.

What's the market like out there? Any of you experts care to hazard a guess on how much it's worth?

    2002 (52) 360 Spider F1, with <gulp> 11,500 miles. And a satnav/audio system that is really bloody good.

I hope you guys are gonna send me off in style on the next ride-out!

I'd say between £105 and £110k. Will you be looking to get another in the states?

    Paul,
best of luck in US, m8.
FWIW, Noony seems spot on with his price. At least you'll have currency on your side if you buy another Ferrari.
    Rgds and best wishes.

What colour is it? It seems to be quite dependent on colour I think - red ones are priced at around 3 or 4K more.

I'll echo Marc's comments - great organisation Paul with that madness-ride out last year - and a top man with the follow up DVD. All the best.

Thanks guys - I'm not leaving until Jan, but summer is always the best time to sell a car, especially a spider. I'm assuming the same applies even for the ferrari marque.

I must say, I'm very surprised by your estimates of worth - I figured 90-95, so I'm glad I asked! Do you not think the high mileage will be a problem?

Any ideas where to advertise? Obviously Auto-trader, anywhere else? Perhaps Sale or Return with Maranellos? Wonder how much they'll want to do that.

I'm sorry to say I won't be buying another 360 when I get to the US. Need to be careful with the cash with moving to a new country - no contacts etc. Perhaps an older model, I've always had a lusting for a testarossa. And I don't know if it's my imagination, but 360 spider's seem to be much more expensive in the US even allowing for currency conversion.

Mark/Ben - thanks guys - hell, we should sort out another ride-out up this neck of the woods before I go!

Sounds good - are the usual suspects going? Where's Joe these days? What day you going?

I can't go both days (my missus is in the US and I'm looking after the dog).

    Paul,

all the best in the US. FWIW i reckon given the good state of your beauty and the demand of Spiders you would get the right side of £100K no problems.
In my experience Maranello are a bit "sniffy" about secondhand deals and wont excatly do you any favours. Maybe advertise in the Times and Top Marques?

    Cheers,

    Gary

    Hi Paul

Having just recently been looking around with the thought of selling my car, I can give you some figures.

Ferrari dealers are mostly the ones with the cash to buy, everyone else wants to SOR. Some coys charge fixed SOR charge(circa £5K), others agree a return with you (they're being greedy IMO).

Mines an 03 car with 6K miles. I've been offered cash prices of between a ridiculous £95 (guess who?lol) to £108 to sell.

Have a look at what your car is retailing at, and you'll probably get roughly 90% at best, maybe less depending on spec, of that in cash sale.

Personally wouldnt bother selling privately, but thats just me I think?

I can give you loads and loads of details regarding most of the dealers, best off line though, so you are more than welcome to drop me an email and I'll give you the details.

I know of another chap who sold his 2002 spider for £95K. If you get between £100K to £104K, you've done v. well for a cash sale. I reckon you'll probably get around the ton.
