I am coming to Alb. for the balloon fest, have booked a room at a place called Studio 6 on 4441 Osuna Road NE,
is this a dump/not safe, or is it OK? I know to stay north of I-40, but beyond that I don't know where the good parts
are vs not-so-good, and I don't want to pay a zillion dollars a night to stay there.
If this isn't so good, feel free to give me better ideas.

Personally I'd stay in Santa Fe and drive down daily. Better hotels, better food, better sights.

Albuquerque is a waypoint, not a destination.

The Marriott hotel just north of I-40 on the western side of I-25 is pretty convienient to ballon fiesta park but it may be a bit more $
